Four days of sport in the city, featuring dozens of disciplines and clubs
For four days at the end of May, Monfalcone puts sport at the center of everything. The Sport Festival takes over the Green Area of via Valentinis and the city center with a program that brings together dozens of local sports associations and clubs: an event that has grown over time to involve over thirty associations and dozens of clubs affiliated with the Sports Council.
The beauty of this festival is its variety. It ranges from volleyball to 3x3 basketball, from boxing to judo, from fencing to skateboarding, including tennis, hockey, cycling, tai chi, street dance, and baskin. Demonstrations, free trials open to the public, and actual tournaments alternate in a packed schedule, designed so that anyone can try a new sport.
The opening ceremony is one of the most cherished moments: sports clubs parade through the city streets, followed by the awards ceremony for the year's sporting excellence. In the following days, key events unfold, from international boxing matches to the historic Cronoscalata della Rocca hill climb, to cycling races for younger participants. A festival that rewards not only champions but also the entire associative fabric that keeps sport alive in Monfalcone.
Promoted by the Municipality of Monfalcone together with the Sports Council, the event perfectly reflects the spirit of a dynamic city, overlooking the upper Adriatic and accustomed to teamwork. An opportunity to discover Monfalcone, its Rocca (fortress), and its waterfront in a festive and active atmosphere.
The 23rd edition of the Sport Festival animates Monfalcone from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, 2026. It involves 34 associations directly in the program and 67 sports clubs registered with the Sports Council, in a schedule spanning demonstrations, free trials, and competitions.
Among the highlights are the international boxing match Italy-Slovakia, the Cronoscalata della Rocca, and cycling races for younger participants.
