The Celtic festival of Valchiavenna

Spluga Celtica is the Celtic festival of Campodolcino, a municipality in the upper Valchiavenna in the province of Sondrio. It takes place in the Acquamerla area, in the evocative Val di Giüst, where the atmosphere of the Celtic and ancient world comes alive among the mountains for a few days.

Stands, gastronomy, and encampments

The festival offers about thirty themed stands with crafts, products, and period settings. Gastronomy is a star, with mead, beer, and local specialties. The heart of the re-enactment are the Celtic camp and the Roman camp, animated by re-enactors who illustrate the customs, rituals, and daily life of those cultures.

Workshops, music, and dances

The program includes workshops, activities with animal groups (including pony rides for the little ones), live folk music with an evening concert, and traditional dances. An immersive experience, suitable for families and enthusiasts, that combines historical education and fun.

Between nature and tradition

Organized by the Valchiavenna Tourist Promotion Consortium with the support of the Municipality of Campodolcino and the Lombardy Region, Spluga Celtica enhances the territory of the upper valley in a cultural and experiential way. For those seeking a different adventure, a camping area is also available in a meadow near the Liro stream, a few meters from the parking lot.
