The Sound Set Festival is the new summer highlight in Nepi, a village in the province of Viterbo in the heart of the Tuscia region, Lazio. The concept is as simple as it is effective: take one of the most evocative local landmarks, the Polo Culturale dell'Acquedotto, and transform it for one night into an open-air stage where electronic music engages with ancient stone. The festival is more than just a series of DJ sets. The project, curated by the AmorArte association in collaboration with the Municipality of Nepi, features a formula that weaves together various artistic languages: live performances, art installations designed to interact with the site's architecture, a food and beverage area, and an audience invited to actively experience the space. The stated goal is to promote local heritage through contemporary artistic expressions, attracting a younger crowd to a place historically tied to the region's memory.

From violin to techno

The event's progression follows a precise curve. In the late afternoon, the atmosphere is more ethereal, with DJ sets accompanied by live percussion and a violin performance that brings elegance and sonic experimentation to the stage. As night falls, the tempo rises and the focus shifts to electronic music: DJ sets spanning house and techno, featuring renowned national and international artists. It is a gradual transition that allows even those who do not frequent clubs to enter the world of electronic music without feeling out of place.

Art, food, and social vibes

Next to the stage, there is a spacious gastronomic area featuring beer, cocktails, and a street food selection that mixes international flavors with local specialties: paella, sandwiches made with local ingredients, and fried delicacies. The vibe is that of an open-air summer festival where you arrive early, dine standing among the installations, and stay until late. The artworks and visual displays complete the experience, playing with light and the geometry of the arches.

Nepi and the Tuscia region

Nepi is one of the most characteristic towns in the Viterbo Tuscia: of Faliscan origin, it preserves a Borgia fortress, waterfalls, and springs famous throughout Italy. The Polo Culturale dell'Acquedotto is now a space dedicated to cultural events and stands as one of the town's visual symbols. Hosting an electronic music festival here means proposing a contemporary interpretation of ancient heritage in a part of Lazio that has seen a surge in summer events between Viterbo, Lake Bracciano, and the Treja Valley.
