The Gambettola stop of the feminist distributed festival of Romagna, at the Stazione degli Artisti
Sorelle Festival is one of the most recognizable cultural events in Romagna: a distributed exhibition that every year, throughout March, enlivens Faenza and a network of Romagna municipalities with a program dedicated to contemporary art, feminist culture, and practices of freedom. Promoted by the Associazione Fatti d'Arte Aps, the festival makes territorial diffusion one of its distinctive features, and among the cities involved is Gambettola, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, on the edge of the Romagna coast.
In Gambettola, the festival finds its home at the Stazione degli Artisti, in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria: a cultural space born in 2021 from the urban regeneration of the old stationmaster's house, now a venue for exhibitions, conferences, and workshops. It is here that Sorelle Festival brings its exhibition proposal each year, built around visual arts and the role of women in artistic creation: an evening opening open to the public, followed by weeks of exhibition access.
The Gambettola stop is particularly dedicated to the language of visual arts — engraving, painting, photography, installation — and centers the female figure not as an object of the gaze but as a creative subject. It is one of the souls of the festival: overturning archetypes, giving voice to female artists, and transforming visibility into a voice. Openings are often accompanied by book presentations and meetings with the authors.
The Gambettola stop is one of the main ones in the exhibition, along with those in Faenza, Riolo Terme, Lugo, and Fusignano. Included in the program for International Women's Day on March 8th and sponsored by local authorities and the Emilia-Romagna Region, Sorelle Festival offers dozens of events with predominantly free admission, building a loyal and intergenerational audience that experiences Romagna and attends its events for the quality of the proposals.
The VII edition of Sorelle Festival brought one of its most anticipated exhibition events to Gambettola, at the Stazione degli Artisti in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria. The event was part of the distributed program that, in March 2026, crossed Faenza, Riolo Terme, Lugo, Fusignano, and Gambettola, under the claim DIVE – Not out of vanity, but for truth.
The core of the stop was the two-person exhibition La forma dell'incontro (The Shape of Encounter), which overturned the archetype of the muse by transforming the gaze into creative dialogue: the moment the muse stops being silent and becomes an active subject of the artistic process. The exhibition remained open until March 29.
6:30 PM — Inauguration of the two-person exhibition La forma dell'incontro by artists PAMCOC and Matteo Beltrami, curated by Angela Molari.
The exhibition La forma dell'incontro remained open at the Stazione degli Artisti until March 29, 2026, during the hours indicated by the organization.
Venue: La Stazione degli Artisti, Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria 2, Gambettola (FC).
Gambettola is located in the province of Forlì-Cesena, a few kilometers from the Romagna coast and the Cesena Nord highway exit on the A14. The town is served by the Gambettola railway station, on the Bologna–Rimini line. The event venue is the Stazione degli Artisti, in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria 2, a short distance from the town's station.
The opening of the Sorelle Festival exhibition takes place in the evening, around 6:30 PM. The exhibition then remains open for several weeks according to the times indicated from time to time. Most of the festival events have free admission; for some events, booking may be required. It is advisable to check the procedures on the official program.
