The Sommernächte of Laces

The Sommernächte (literally «summer nights») are a series of open-air summer evenings that bring the main square (Hauptplatz) of Laces/Latsch to life. This charming village is located in the Vinschgau Valley, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region. Since their inception in 2023, these evenings have quickly become one of the most anticipated summer highlights, drawing residents, vacationers, and tourists alike with their signature blend of live music and great food.

The format: «Music, Food & Drinks»

The concept is simple and effective. Starting at 6:00 PM, local associations and groups set up their stalls offering regional specialties, grilled dishes, and cold drinks, transforming the square into a vibrant social hub. From 8:00 PM, the main stage hosts live concerts, with bands ranging from classic rock and rock'n'roll to tributes to iconic pop legends.

A free event in the heart of the Vinschgau Valley

Admission is free for all evenings, making the Sommernächte a popular festival open to everyone, from families to groups of friends. The setting is the evocative historic center of Laces, surrounded by the orchards and mountains of the Vinschgau Valley, one of the sunniest valleys in the entire Alpine region.

Organization and tradition

The event is promoted by the Latsch-Martell tourist board (Tourismusverein Latsch-Martell) in partnership with the Municipality of Laces (Marktgemeinde Latsch), with the support of numerous local associations and groups who manage the culinary offerings. This synergy between the tourist board, local administration, and community volunteers is the secret to the success of every edition and reflects the strong community spirit that defines the villages of the valley.
