About Solidarity Festival

The Solidarity Festival is a charity event that brings the village of San Lazzaro in Agerola, located in the Lattari Mountains near Naples, to life. Established in 2026 during the celebrations for Saint Maria Goretti, it transforms Piazza Generale Avitabile into a hub of culinary delights and music, featuring dishes like fusilli alla lardiata with Provolone del Monaco, fried montanara, and gourmet desserts, with all proceeds donated to the renovation of the local parish sports field.

The Agerola Solidarity Festival

In the heart of the Lattari Mountains, suspended between the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples, Agerola (province of Naples, Campania) preserves a tradition rooted in popular faith, fine dining, and a strong sense of community. It is in this setting that the Solidarity Festival was born in 2026, a charitable event that enlivens the hamlet of San Lazzaro during the festivities for Saint Maria Goretti.

A village of flavors in Piazza Generale Avitabile

For one evening, Piazza Generale Avitabile, in front of the SS. Annunziata parish church, transforms into a village of taste and entertainment, filled with food stalls and live performances. The festival combines the conviviality typical of local village feasts with a concrete goal: supporting the oratory and its youth. The event is organized by the SS. Annunziata Parish in collaboration with the Giovanni Paolo II Oratory.

A gourmet menu

What makes this festival special is the quality of its culinary offerings, entrusted to three prominent names in the local food scene. These are not improvised stalls, but true culinary signatures:

  • fusilli alla lardiata with shavings of Provolone del Monaco by Michelin-starred chef Vincenzo Guarino;
  • fried montanara with tomato and parmesan by pizzaiolo Raimondo De Crescenzo;
  • lemon pasticciotto by master pastry chef Andrea Pansa;
  • plus watermelon, wine, and water to accompany the evening.

DOP Provolone del Monaco and the local peninsula lemons are iconic products of this corner of Campania, and finding them in dishes prepared by such renowned professionals is one of the reasons this event stands out from a simple village fair.

Music, faith, and community

The culinary aspect intertwines with spiritual life and entertainment. During the days of the Saint Maria Goretti feast, the program includes the Holy Rosary, Holy Masses, and the traditional procession featuring local children. In the evening, the square lights up with live music from Giovanni Fusco, Gerardo di Nola, BEMA, and La Pupatella del Popolo, creating an atmosphere of authentic popular joy.

A festival for a good cause

What truly distinguishes this event is its charitable heart: all proceeds are donated to the renovation of the oratory's parish sports field, with the goal of transforming it into a safe, inclusive space that is also accessible to differently-abled children supported by the community. Attending the San Lazzaro Solidarity Festival means enjoying excellent cuisine while contributing to a meaningful project for the youth of Agerola.
