The stop in Forlimpopoli of the widespread festival for slow and sustainable travel in Romagna
Slò Fest – Festival del Viaggio Lento is a widespread event created by the Inzir Association – Viaggiatorincircolo, the Forlì travelers' club. From June 11th to 14th, 2026, the festival will travel through the Municipalities of Forlì, Forlimpopoli, Bertinoro, and Premilcuore, in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna), transforming the Romagna hinterland into an itinerary of walks, bicycles, music, nature, and stories.
The common thread is simple and very current: experiencing travel in a slow, conscious, and sustainable way, counteracting mass tourism. The 2026 edition, the fourth of the event, focuses on the theme of overtourism, tourist overcrowding, presented as a problem that concerns everyone and can be combated with simple, everyday practices. The festival's four pillars are: experiences to live rather than just consume, authentic dialogue without digital distractions, music and culture as attentive listening, and human relationships at the center of everything.
In Forlimpopoli, known as the city of Pellegrino Artusi and a capital of Romagna's gastronomic culture, the festival stops on Saturday, June 13th, with an intense day that blends cinema, flavors, and play. The morning opens at the Teatro Verdi, in Piazza Antonio Fratti, with a section dedicated to cycle tourism: the screening of the docufilm Cycling Soundtrack and a talk on traveling at the rhythm of breath and wind.
In the afternoon, the stop moves between flavors and families: at the Forno Cappelletti, in Piazza Pompilio, a bread-making workshop explores ancient techniques and the slowness of the art of bread, while at Parco Lama, in Via Sandro Pertini, Slò Kids activities engage children and families with movement games, animated readings, land art, and poetic writing.
Slò Fest is not an event concentrated in a single square, but an itinerary that crosses villages, parish churches, natural oases, and historic theaters of Romagna. Sunset concerts, screenings dedicated to cycle tourism, workshops, readings, and children's activities, regenerative treks, and dialogues with writers and travelers make up a program designed for those who want to discover a less-traveled territory.
A large part of the events is free admission, with booking required due to limited spaces; some experiences (workshops, treks, walking brunches) require a contribution. The event, born in 2022, has established itself over the years as one of the reference points for experiential and sustainable tourism in the Forlì area and throughout Emilia-Romagna.
The 2026 edition of Slò Fest, the fourth of the event, is held from Thursday, June 11th, to Sunday, June 14th, 2026, as a widespread festival across Forlì, Forlimpopoli, Bertinoro, and Premilcuore, with overtourism as the central theme. Four days of events, walks, music, cycling, nature, and stories dedicated to a slower, more conscious, and sustainable way of traveling.
The Forlimpopoli stop, on Saturday, June 13th, spans the entire day: in the morning, the Teatro Verdi hosts a section dedicated to cycle tourism, while in the afternoon, events move to the Forno Cappelletti for a bread-making workshop and to Parco Lama for creative activities for children and families.
The Forlimpopoli stop is part of the widespread festival: the same day, Saturday, June 13th, also features a walk with brunch at La Via del Colle (Bertinoro) in the morning and, in the evening, a meeting with Gio Evan at the Rocca Park in Bertinoro. All information and booking links are on www.slofest.it.
The Forlimpopoli stop takes place between the Teatro Verdi (Piazza Antonio Fratti 7), the Forno Cappelletti (Piazza Pompilio 2), and Parco Lama (Via Sandro Pertini), all in the center of Forlimpopoli. The town is reachable by car from the Via Emilia (SS9) and from the A14 highway exit of Forlì, a few kilometers away, as well as by bus connections from Forlì and Cesena.
Many events are free but require mandatory booking due to limited spaces. For the Slò Kids activities and the bread-making workshop, advance registration is required via the online form.
The screening of the docufilm and the talk at the Teatro Verdi are free admission. The Slò Kids activities at Parco Lama have a contribution of €15 per participant (max 30 places); the bread-making workshop costs €88 per person. All details and booking links are on www.slofest.it.
