About Slò Fest

Slò Fest is the travelling festival for slow and sustainable travel that transforms Forlì and its hinterland into a route of walks, music, encounters, and nature for four days. In Forlì, the festival stops at Radici Urbane, amidst the historic gardens of Viale dell'Appennino, with a picnic on the lawn, a talk on the damage caused by mass tourism, and a theatrical improvisation show. An invitation to slow down and rediscover the less-travelled Romagna, far from the crowded routes.

Slò Fest, the slow travel festival in Romagna

Slò Fest – Festival del Viaggio Lento is a travelling event created by the Associazione Inzir – Viaggiatorincircolo, the Forlì travellers' association. For four days, from June 11th to 14th, the festival travels through the Municipalities of Forlì, Forlimpopoli, Bertinoro, and Premilcuore, in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna), transforming the Romagna hinterland into an itinerary of walks, bicycles, music, nature, and stories.

The common thread is simple and very current: experiencing travel in a slow, conscious, and sustainable way, counteracting mass tourism. The 2026 edition, the fourth, focuses on the theme of overtourism, tourist overcrowding, presented as a problem that concerns everyone and can be combated with simple, everyday practices. The event has four pillars: experiences to live rather than just consume, authentic dialogue without digital distractions, music and culture as attentive listening, and human relationships at the centre of everything.

The Forlì stop, at Radici Urbane

In Forlì, the provincial capital, the festival stops on Friday, June 12th, at Radici Urbane, in the area of the historic gardens of Viale dell'Appennino. It's a green area of the city, far from traffic, perfect for the idea of slowness that animates the event: the public is invited to bring a blanket to sit on the grass and experience the evening as a large shared picnic.

The Forlì day combines reflection and entertainment: a talk dedicated to the damage of mass tourism opens the evening, followed by a theatrical improvisation show on the theme of unexpected journeys. A food truck will be present throughout the evening, allowing you to dine outdoors between events.

A travelling and participatory festival

Slò Fest is not an event concentrated in a single square, but an itinerary that crosses villages, churches, natural oases, and historic theatres of Romagna. Sunset concerts, screenings dedicated to cycle tourism, workshops, readings, and activities for children, regenerative trekking, and dialogues with writers and travellers make up a programme designed for those who want to discover a less-travelled region.

Most of the events are free admission, with booking required due to limited spaces; some experiences (trekking, walking brunches, workshops) require a contribution. The event, born in 2022, has established itself over the years as one of the reference points for experiential and sustainable tourism in the Forlì area and throughout Emilia-Romagna.

Slò Fest — edition 2026

The fourth edition of Slò Fest takes place from June 11th to 14th, 2026, between Forlì, Forlimpopoli, Bertinoro, and Premilcuore, focusing on the theme of overtourism. The Forlì stop on Friday, June 12th, is held at Radici Urbane, in the historic gardens of Viale dell'Appennino: a picnic on the lawn with the talk "The Tourism That Doesn't Pay" by Cristina Nadotti and the improvisation theatre show "Stories on the Road."
