About Sesto Jazz

The Sesto Jazz Festival is an annual winter jazz series hosted at the Teatro della Limonaia in Sesto Fiorentino, within the Metropolitan City of Florence. Organized by the "Bruno Bartoletti" School of Music and directed by pianist Alessandro Lanzoni, the festival brings together international stars, leading figures of the Italian jazz scene, and emerging young talents over a single weekend. It is an intimate and refined event that blends artistic excellence with a welcoming atmosphere in one of the Florentine area's most historic theaters.

The Sesto Jazz Festival

The Sesto Jazz Festival is one of the most highly regarded jazz events in the Florence area. It takes place at the Teatro della Limonaia, located at Via Antonio Gramsci 426, in the heart of Sesto Fiorentino, a town in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany. The event is organized by the "Bruno Bartoletti" School of Music of Sesto Fiorentino, in collaboration with Music Pool and the Teatro della Limonaia ETS Association.

Artistic Excellence

The festival is curated by pianist Alessandro Lanzoni, one of the most acclaimed talents in Italian jazz, who ensures a sophisticated and high-level program. The series is designed as a journey that weaves together internationally renowned artists, prominent figures of the national jazz scene, and emerging young musicians, offering the audience a vibrant and multifaceted view of contemporary jazz.

A Weekend of Concerts

The heart of the festival lies in the evening performances at the Teatro della Limonaia, a historic venue that guarantees an intimate listening experience and a special connection between musicians and the audience. Each edition features a carefully curated selection of concerts, ranging from folk-inspired jazz fusions to structured jazz ensembles, as well as tributes to legendary musical figures.

Aperitif Concerts

A distinctive feature of the festival is the traditional aperitif concerts that precede the evening shows. Performed by students and musicians from the "Bruno Bartoletti" School of Music, these events are held in various spaces throughout Sesto Fiorentino, guiding the audience toward the main performances while showcasing local young talent.

A Festival Rooted in the Community

Born from the experience of the local music school, the Sesto Jazz Festival represents a cultural landmark for Sesto Fiorentino and the entire Florentine metropolitan area. Its intimate format, far removed from large-scale festivals, makes it a precious opportunity to enjoy live jazz in a curated, spectator-friendly setting.
