About Serramazzoni Fair

Every year, in mid-August, Serramazzoni transforms into a large open-air market: over 145 stalls invade the streets and squares of the town with food products, crafts, objects, and local specialties. The Serramazzoni Annual Fair is a traditional event for the Modena Apennines, with two days of shopping, gastronomy, and entertainment for the whole family, including a funfair for the little ones. An opportunity to discover the village and its traditions in the heart of summer.

The August fair in the Modena Apennines

The Serramazzoni Annual Fair is one of the most cherished events of the summer in the Modena Apennines. Every year, in mid-August, the center of the Municipality of Serramazzoni, in the Province of Modena (Emilia-Romagna), comes alive with a large market that attracts visitors from all over the mountain area and the plains. For two days, the main streets of the town become a continuous path of stalls, scents, and colors.

Over 145 stalls in the streets of the town

The heart of the event is the extraordinary market, with over 145 stalls distributed along Via Val di Sasso and its side streets, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Tasso, Viale Belvedere, and Largo Olimpico. The offer is wide and covers all product categories:

  • Food products and local gastronomic specialties;
  • Local artistic crafts, ceramics, wooden and wicker objects;
  • Clothing, fabrics, leather goods, and home decor;
  • Dried flowers, herbs, medicinal plants, and agricultural products;
  • Stalls from agricultural producers and typical Apennine products.

Gastronomy, funfair, and entertainment

In addition to shopping, the Fair is a true village festival: there are no shortage of food stands where you can taste traditional flavors and entertainment for the little ones. In past editions, the funfair with rides, set up near Largo Olimpico, and itinerant shows accompanied the two days, making the event suitable for families and children.

A traditional event

The Serramazzoni Annual Fair has long been a reference point in the local summer calendar, designedโ€”as the municipal administrators recallโ€”to promote the territory, revive traditions, and encourage tourism. For those who choose the Apennines as their holiday destination, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the village of Serramazzoni, take a stroll through the stalls, and soak up the authentic atmosphere of a village fair.
