The Sea and Taste Festival in Porto Empedocle

The Sea and Taste Festival is a travelling event that brings live music to the most evocative locations along the Agrigento and Trapani coasts. Every year, it makes a stop in Porto Empedocle, in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. The stage in Porto Empedocle is the scenic Tower of Charles V, a 16th-century fortification overlooking the sea, providing a unique backdrop for sunset concerts.

A project by the GALP Flag "Il Sole e l'Azzurro"

The event is promoted by the GALP Flag "Il Sole e l'Azzurro - Tra Selinunte, Sciacca e Vigata", the Local Action Group for Fisheries that brings together ten coastal municipalities: Campobello di Mazara, Castelvetrano, Menfi, Sciacca, Ribera, Cattolica Eraclea, Montallegro, Siculiana, Realmonte, and Porto Empedocle itself. The festival's goal is twofold: to offer high-quality performances while promoting local coastal fishing and seafood products, sharing the maritime identity of this stretch of Sicily through music, culture, and the flavours of the sea.

Live music on the waterfront

The programme ranges from jazz and singer-songwriter music to Mediterranean sounds and contemporary influences, featuring concerts that highlight both Sicilian and national artists. The Porto Empedocle stop is traditionally one of the most anticipated events of the festival, thanks to the evening atmosphere that the Tower of Charles V offers its audience.
