Great literature arrives in Fusignano, in the heart of Bassa Romagna
ScrittuRa Festival is one of Romagna's most beloved literary reviews: every year, in May, it transforms the province of Ravenna into a large, widespread stage where literature meets the public. Directed by writer Matteo Cavezzali, the festival features dozens of free admission events that span Ravenna, Lugo, and the Municipalities of Bassa Romagna, including Fusignano, Alfonsine, Bagnacavallo, Cotignola, Sant'Agata sul Santerno, and Castel Bolognese.
In Fusignano, in the province of Ravenna (Emilia-Romagna), the festival arrives at the Auditorium Arcangelo Corelli, located at via Belletti 2, named after the famous Baroque composer born in the town. For the occasion, the hall becomes a meeting place for authors and readers, hosting book presentations, discussions, and readings with nationally renowned writers and communicators. Events are held with free admission, in line with the festival's philosophy of bringing great literature closer to the widest possible audience.
The strength of ScrittuRa Festival lies in its ability to bring top names from the national and international literary scene to even the smallest towns in the province, valorizing the libraries, theaters, and cultural spaces of the area. For Fusignano, this stop represents a moment of cultural appeal that dialogues with the community life and initiatives of the Municipality and the Union of Municipalities of Bassa Romagna, contributing to making this corner of Emilia-Romagna a reference point for book and writing enthusiasts.
The Fusignano stop thus confirms itself as a precious piece of a review that, edition after edition, gathers thousands of attendees throughout the province of Ravenna.
The 2026 edition of ScrittuRa Festival, the thirteenth, took place from May 6 to 29, with dozens of free admission events in Ravenna, Lugo, and the Municipalities of Bassa Romagna. Among the edition's guests were international stars like the Scottish writer Irvine Welsh (author of Trainspotting), Stefania Auci, Concita De Gregorio, and the poet Mariangela Gualtieri.
The Fusignano stop hosted Carlo Lucarelli: on Wednesday, May 13, at 9 PM, at the Auditorium Arcangelo Corelli, free admission.
Considered one of the masters of Italian noir, Lucarelli brought to the stage the stories and characters that populate his most recent short story collection, exploring mysteries, psychological tensions, and events set in different eras and contexts. The conversation focused on the art of the short story: texts that, as the author himself explained, "disperse more easily" than novels, but which, once collected, become "a discovery. And a surprise.".
The event was held with free admission, until seats were filled.
