The Sciuscelletta of Casoli

Sciuscelletta is the festival held on Easter Monday, or Pasquetta, in the Ascigno district of the town of Casoli, located in the heart of the Chieti province in Abruzzo. It is organized by the "San Gabriele" Festival Committee, the same group that enlivens the social and devotional life of the district throughout the year, hosting this open-to-all gathering every spring.

A Day of Community

Sciuscelletta was born from the most authentic spirit of the Abruzzo Easter Monday: the day when, after the Easter celebrations, people come together to eat, chat, and enjoy each other's company. In Ascigno, this tradition takes the form of a village festival with great food, live music, entertainment, and children's games, designed to bring together families, friends, and neighbors from the district and surrounding areas.

Between Church and Countryside

The heart of the festival is the area in front of the San Gabriele church in Ascigno, a key landmark for the community. When early spring weather does not permit outdoor activities, the Committee moves the event indoors to a facility in the eastern industrial zone of Casoli, ensuring the day can proceed without interruption.
