A feast of flavors in the heart of Sciara

The Sciara Street Food Fest is the premier summer event in the small town of Sciara, located in the province of Palermo, in the heart of the Valle del Torto. For two nights in August, the historic town squares transform into a large open-air market dedicated to Sicilian street food, live music, and conviviality. The event is completely free and organized by the Associazione Giovanile Sciarese with the support of the Municipality of Sciara and the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport, and Entertainment.

Street food takes center stage

The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls that bring Piazza Castelreale and Piazza Salvatore Carnevale to life. Here, visitors can sample the very best of the island's street food, embarking on a culinary journey through Sicilian popular tradition:

• arancine filled with both classic and creative ingredients;
• panelle and cazzilli (potato croquettes);
• Palermitan sfincione and pane e panelle;
• grilled meat specialties and local products;
• traditional desserts and Sicilian granitas.

The organizers prioritize local products, highlighting street food as a vital gastronomic and cultural heritage of the Sciara community.

Music and entertainment

Alongside the food, the Street Food Fest offers a rich entertainment program every year, featuring musical performances, folk groups, and free concerts that attract a wide audience. The square becomes a meeting point for families, young people, and visitors from neighboring towns, creating a festive atmosphere that lasts until late at night.
