Scena 1312 is the music and theatre season of Bardonecchia, a renowned resort in the upper Susa Valley in the Province of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Alps. The name refers to the town's altitude, at 1,312 metres above sea level, and immediately conveys the identity of this festival: bringing high culture to the mountains, where the peaks provide the backdrop. The season is promoted by the Municipality of Bardonecchia in collaboration with the Estemporanea - Art, Music, Theatre association, under the artistic direction of Lucia Margherita Marino.

A year-round program

Scena 1312 is divided into two main parts: a winter season, which accompanies the public from December until late spring, and a summer season, concentrated between late June and August, when the town fills with tourists and holidaymakers. Throughout the year, the program features over forty appointments, alternating concerts, theatrical performances, monologues, readings, photographic exhibitions, and book presentations.

The offering is deliberately diverse: ranging from chamber music to comedy theatre, from storytelling to dialectal comedy, with special attention given to emerging young artists and local photographers. Many events are free of charge, a choice that reflects the popular and community-oriented vocation of the festival.

The Palazzo delle Feste, the heart of the festival

All events take place at the Palazzo delle Feste in Bardonecchia, in Piazza Valle Stretta, a historic building and the nerve centre of the town's cultural life. Performances are held in the two main halls, the Sala Viglione and the Sala Giolitti, while the Foyer hosts exhibitions and displays. The variety of spaces allows for the hosting of different genres, from intimate concerts to theatrical productions.
