About Saporitissimo

Saporitissimo is the food, wine, and craft market that brings Piazza Plebiscito in Castel di Sangro to life, right in the heart of the Alto Sangro region. For three days, the event showcases the very best of Italian food and craftsmanship: a culinary journey from the North to the Islands, featuring artisanal chocolate, cured meats, local cheeses, traditional sweets, and regional street food. It is a family-friendly event with stalls of local products, handmade creations, and entertainment for children.

A culinary journey in Castel di Sangro

Saporitissimo is an event dedicated to celebrating the excellence of Italian food and craftsmanship, returning to the center of Castel di Sangro, a town in the Alto Sangro area of the L'Aquila province, Abruzzo. The event takes place in Piazza Plebiscito, the town's main square, transforming the historic center for three days into a showcase of flavors and artisanal creations from every corner of Italy.

The food and wine trail

The heart of the event is the exhibitor market, featuring a curated selection of local products that tell the story of Italy from North to South and the Islands. Among the stalls, you will find specialties that make for a true journey of taste:

  • Artisanal chocolate and mulled wine from the Piedmont tradition
  • Cured meats from Norcia and Abruzzese preserves
  • Neapolitan pizza and cheeses from Alta Irpinia
  • Calabrian liquorice
  • Sicilian sweets such as torrone, cassata, cannoli, and arancine

Alongside the gastronomic specialties, local producers are also present, offering zero-mile products linked to the Alto Sangro and Abruzzo region.

Craftsmanship and creativity

Beyond food, Saporitissimo dedicates a large section to creative talent and craftsmanship. Among the stands, you can admire handmade jewelry, scented salts for wellness and the home, illustrations, and artisanal objects, showcasing a 'Made in Italy' that combines good taste and manual skill.

An event for families

The event is designed for audiences of all ages. The program includes entertainment and creative workshops for children, making Saporitissimo a convivial occasion where tastings, craft shopping, and activities for the little ones blend in a festive atmosphere.

Organization

The event is organized by the Associazione D2 Eventi in synergy with Momenti Gommosi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castel di Sangro. Saporitissimo is part of the spring calendar of the Abruzzese town, attracting visitors and food enthusiasts from the entire Alto Sangro district.
