About Sapori di Sicilia

Flavors of Sicily is the food and wine festival that, at the end of August, turns the village of Raccuja, located in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, into a grand culinary itinerary. For two days, the streets of the historic center and Piazza del Popolo come alive with stalls featuring local products, tasting trails, handicrafts, guided tours, and free live concerts. It is a journey through traditional recipes, local wines, and Sicilian conviviality, designed for families and visitors of all ages.

A journey through taste in the Nebrodi mountains

Flavors of Sicily is one of the most anticipated summer events in Raccuja, a small village perched in the heart of the Nebrodi Park, in the province of Messina. Promoted by the Municipality of Raccuja, the festival celebrates the identity and excellence of the region through a food and wine trail that takes over the streets of the historic center and Piazza del Popolo for two days, turning the town into an open-air stage.

Taste, tradition, and conviviality

The heart of the event is Sicilian cuisine: along the route, you will find food and wine stalls and street food options where you can sample traditional dishes, local specialties, and regional wines. From the traditional peasant recipes of the Nebrodi to desserts, every stop tells a piece of the gastronomic culture of the Messina hinterland. Alongside the tastings, there is space for local crafts, market stalls, and guided tours that accompany visitors in discovering the village.

Live music and heritage

The festival combines taste with entertainment: every evening, the program features live music and free concerts. The 2026 edition will take place on August 20 and 21: Carmelo Caccamo will perform on the evening of August 20, while Mizzica will take the stage on August 21. During the festival, it is possible to visit two of the town's jewels, the Branciforti Castle and the Silk Museum, guardians of local history and traditions, and admire the beautiful murals created by Sposari.

A village to discover

Raccuja is an ideal destination for those seeking the authentic inland Sicily, characterized by mountain landscapes, tranquility, hospitality, and genuine gastronomy. Flavors of Sicily is the perfect opportunity to visit the village during the liveliest time of the summer, immersing yourself in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community.

Sapori di Sicilia — edition 2026

On August 20 and 21, Flavors of Sicily returns to bring the historic center of Raccuja to life with a rich journey through taste, craftsmanship, and entertainment. The stalls will offer gastronomic specialties, craft beers, wines, desserts, agricultural products, works of art, and handmade creations. Two evenings dedicated to flavors, music, and conviviality in the heart of the Nebrodi mountains.

On August 20 and 21, the streets of Raccuja's historic center and Piazza del Popolo will host a new edition of Flavors of Sicily, an event dedicated to taste, craftsmanship, and local excellence.

The food and wine trail will offer a wide variety of specialties: focaccia with mortadella, pistachio pesto and lemon, burgers with fries, pulled pork sandwiches, sausage, braciole, and horse or beef meat, accompanied by preserved products in oil.

There will also be fried and oven-baked pizza, fried calamari, and numerous sweet treats, including crêpes, Aperol granita, and gelato cannoli. The evenings will also be accompanied by sangria, local wines, and craft beers.

Among the stalls, you will also find seeds, oils, flours, biscuits, pasta, wine, amaro, cosmetic products, and other specialties. The route will be enriched by artisanal creations, copper jewelry, and art exhibitions.

Flavors of Sicily will be a journey through flavors, creativity, and traditions, designed to engage visitors of all ages in an atmosphere of celebration and conviviality in the heart of the Nebrodi.
