About Sapori di Sicilia

Sapori di Sicilia is a food and wine festival held in late August that transforms the village of Raccuja, nestled in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, into a vibrant culinary trail. For two days, the historic center and Piazza del Popolo come alive with stalls featuring local products, tasting tours, artisan crafts, guided visits, and free live concerts. It is a journey through traditional recipes, local wines, and Sicilian conviviality, designed for families and visitors of all ages.

A journey through the flavors of the Nebrodi

Sapori di Sicilia is one of the most anticipated summer events in Raccuja, a small village perched in the heart of the Nebrodi Park, in the province of Messina. Sponsored by the Municipality of Raccuja, the festival celebrates the identity and excellence of the region through a food and wine trail that takes over the streets of the historic center and Piazza del Popolo for two days, turning the town into an open-air stage.

Flavor, tradition, and conviviality

The heart of the event is Sicilian cuisine: along the route, you will find food and wine stalls and street food vendors offering traditional dishes, local specialties, and regional wines. From the traditional peasant recipes of the Nebrodi to local desserts, every stop tells a part of the gastronomic culture of the Messina hinterland. Alongside the tastings, there is space for local craftsmanship, market stalls, and guided tours that help visitors discover the village.

Live music and heritage

The festival combines taste with entertainment: every evening, the program features live music and free concerts, with nationally renowned guests who have performed in Raccuja in recent editions. During the festival, it is possible to visit two of the town's jewels, the Castello Branciforti and the Silk Museum, which guard the local history and traditions.

A village to discover

Raccuja is an ideal destination for those seeking the authentic Sicily of the hinterland: mountain landscapes, tranquility, warm hospitality, and genuine gastronomy. Sapori di Sicilia is the perfect opportunity to visit the village during the most lively time of the summer, immersing yourself in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community. The event traditionally takes place towards the end of August: the dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced.
