The patronal feast of the Quartiere dei Fiori in Pineto
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Sant'Anna Festival is the patronal feast of the Quartiere dei Fiori in Pineto, a seaside town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. For nearly four decades, the residents of the district have gathered to honor Sant'Anna, mother of the Virgin Mary, for a day that weaves together faith, tradition, and community spirit. In 2025, the neighborhood celebrated its 37th edition, a testament to the enduring nature of an event deeply rooted in the local community.
The religious heart of the festival is the solemn Eucharistic celebration, followed by a procession that carries the statue of Sant'Anna through the streets of the Quartiere dei Fiori. The day begins early in the morning with the traditional firing of firecrackers to announce the start of the festivities, while in the afternoon, a brass band brings the district to life with a charming musical tour through the decorated streets. The event is organized by the Comitato Sant'Anna in collaboration with the Sant'Anna Prayer Group, which engages residents, volunteers, and local sponsors every year.
As evening falls, the festival truly kicks off: food stalls open, offering typical Abruzzese specialties and local neighborhood cuisine, from arrosticini to porchetta, paired with beer. In Piazza Sant'Anna, the evening continues with live music and entertainment featuring show orchestras and dancing—a highlight awaited by all generations of the district. The night concludes with a fireworks display that illuminates the Pineto sky, preceded by a charity raffle draw.
Included every year in the Pineto Summer program, the Sant'Anna Festival is one of the most cherished events of the local summer, transforming the Quartiere dei Fiori into a vibrant hub of celebration for a day. Pineto, overlooking the Adriatic and famous for its pine forest and the Torre di Cerrano, welcomes numerous tourists and vacationers during this period, who join the residents in an event with a strong sense of identity and community, typical of the patronal feasts of the municipality and the entire Teramo province.
The 2026 edition of the Sant'Anna Festival in the Quartiere dei Fiori of Pineto does not yet have officially confirmed dates. Based on previous editions, the patronal feast takes place around July 26th, the day of Sant'Anna, with a Eucharistic celebration and procession, food stalls, live music in Piazza Sant'Anna, and a final fireworks display. The program will be announced by the Comitato Sant'Anna and included in the Pineto Summer calendar in the weeks leading up to the event.
