Four days of music, sports, tradition, and fine dining in the hills of Valperga
In the small hamlet of Braidacroce, nestled in the hills of Valperga in the province of Turin and the heart of the Canavese, the San Rocco Festival has been the most anticipated early summer event for over a decade. Born from the dedication of a close-knit group of volunteers, the festival has grown year after year to become a landmark for the entire region, attracting over a thousand people throughout its duration.
The secret of the San Rocco Festival lies in its ability to bring different generations together. Evenings are filled with live music and DJs that get everyone dancing, while the days are dedicated to sports, games, and socializing. Recurring highlights of each edition include:
The beating heart of the event is the Strabraidacroce, a non-competitive walk open to adults, children, and four-legged friends, winding through the meadows and hills of the hamlet. The race is dedicated to the memory of Rosella Agostino and is organized by the Agostino family, proving how the festival serves as an occasion for remembrance and community.
The gastronomic pavilion is one of the souls of the festival. Among the dishes that highlight the various evenings are spit-roasted ribs, gnocco fritto, Sunday set menus, fried fish, and paella, not to mention other crowd-pleasing specialties. The cuisine, prepared by the volunteers and chefs of Pro San Rocco, is one of the main reasons for the event's success.
More than just a local fair, the San Rocco Festival in Braidacroce is a celebration of a community reuniting: volunteers, families, local authorities, and visitors from neighboring towns share days of joy in the spirit of Piedmontese popular traditions. An authentic village festival where good food, music, and a sense of togetherness remain the true protagonists.
The 12th edition of the San Rocco Festival took place from June 5 to 8, 2026, in the Braidacroce hamlet of Valperga, confirming the success of an event now deeply rooted in the Canavese territory and attended by local authorities such as Mayor Walter Sandretto and Regional Councilor Mauro Fava.
Among the highlights of this edition were the 11th Strabraidacroce, the non-competitive walk in memory of Rosella Agostino, musical and dance evenings, and the ever-rich gastronomic pavilion managed by the volunteers of Pro San Rocco Braidacroce.
The festival takes place in the Braidacroce hamlet of Valperga (TO), in the Canavese region. Valperga is easily accessible by car from the Canavese state road; the nearest train station is Cuorgnè-Valperga on the Canavesana line.
The event is traditionally held at the beginning of June, featuring four days of events from Friday to Monday.
Admission to the festival is free. For the gastronomic evenings, reservations are recommended by contacting the Pro San Rocco Braidacroce volunteers (Marilena 339 5080041, Elisa 380 3154437, Livio 340 2577451). The Strabraidacroce is free and open to everyone.
