The Festa dei Risotti is the festival that enlivens the hamlet of San Prospero di Suzzara, in the Municipality of Suzzara and in the Province of Mantua. As the name suggests, the absolute star is risotto, a symbolic dish of Po Valley cuisine, here presented in many variations that tell the story of local flavours.
A menu to savour
The food stand, open every evening from 7:00 PM, offers a true parade of risottos: with salamella, with radicchio and speck, with mushrooms and pancetta, with mushrooms and Parmigiano Reggiano, and in the seafood version. Alongside the first courses, there are skewers, cooked ham with polenta, mixed fried items, and shavings of Parmigiano, all accompanied by draft wines and Prosecco. The festival takes place under cover, ensuring conviviality in all weather conditions.
Music, dancing, and solidarity
In addition to good food, the Festa dei Risotti offers three evenings of entertainment with DJ sets, dance evenings, and live rock concerts. Adding a charitable touch to the event is the "Tra lo Zara e il Po" walk, with 5 and 10 km routes and proceeds donated to Caritas and AVO. It is this blend of gastronomy, music, and commitment that makes the festival a highly anticipated event for the community of Suzzara.
Risotto Festival — edition 2026
The 17th edition of the Festa dei Risotti returns to the hamlet of San Prospero di Suzzara from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24, 2026. The food stand opens every evening from 7:00 PM, under cover, with traditional risottos: with salamella, with radicchio and speck, with mushrooms and pancetta, with mushrooms and Parmigiano, and seafood. The menu also includes skewers, cooked ham with polenta, mixed fried items, and Prosecco di Valdobbiadene.
The three evenings are accompanied by music: Friday is a dance evening with Radio Pico, Saturday is a 70s-80s-90s disco party, and Sunday features live rock from the Wild Drinking Platypus. Kicking off the festival is the charity walk "Tra lo Zara e il Po" in support of Caritas and AVO.
