Five days of patronal festivities featuring music, local food, and tradition in the heart of Monferrato
The San Bartolomeo Festival is the patronal feast of Trino, a town in the Province of Vercelli overlooking the Monferrato hills and the vast rice-growing plains of Piedmont. For five days, surrounding the feast day of the patron saint (Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, celebrated on August 24), the historic center transforms into a lively festival village: live music, a gastronomic festival, a street market, a funfair, and dozens of civic, cultural, and charitable initiatives organized by local associations.
The hub of the event is Piazza Comazzi, where the covered market hosts the kitchen run by the Pro Loco of Trino. Every evening from 7:30 PM, the stalls offer traditional Monferrato and Vercelli specialties: from panissa (the famous risotto with beans and salame della duja) to agnolotti with meat sauce, and even seafood options like fried calamari. The covered, climate-controlled space allows guests to dine sheltered from the heat and weather, in a convivial atmosphere that is a core part of the festival's identity.
The evenings are marked by concerts and shows, with popular musical guests taking the main stage, while Piazza Audisio hosts dance parties and musical performances. The San Bartolomeo street market fills the town center with stalls and vendors, and the funfair in Piazza Garibaldi attracts families and children. The religious dimension is also present, with a solemn mass in honor of the patron saint, alongside sporting events and cultural exhibitions hosted throughout the city.
Organized by the Municipality of Trino in collaboration with the Pro Loco and numerous local associations (AOCT, Ascom, Borghi delle Vie d'Acqua, and others), the San Bartolomeo Festival is much more than just a food fair: it is the moment when Trino reconnects with its roots through taste, music, and tradition. It is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Piedmont, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.
The 2026 edition of the San Bartolomeo Festival, the patronal feast of Trino (VC), is scheduled from August 21 to 25, 2026, according to the Municipality of Trino. As per tradition, the event will offer five days of celebrations in the town center, with the Pro Loco kitchen active every evening in the covered market of Piazza Comazzi, evening concerts, a funfair, and a market along the streets of the center.
At the moment, the detailed program for the evenings and the list of musical guests are being updated on the official channels. Enthusiasts can follow the Pro Loco of Trino page and social media profiles to learn about the full lineup as soon as it is published.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition and the list of musical guests have not yet been published: the Municipality of Trino has indicated the dates (August 21-25, 2026) but lists the program as "being updated".
