The patronal festival of Chiusa di San Michele in the Susa Valley
At the foot of the Sacra di San Michele, a symbol of Piedmont and the Susa Valley, the municipality of Chiusa di San Michele celebrates its patron saints every year with the Saints Peter and Paul Patronal Festival. It is the most important and cherished event for the entire community, blending ancient religious traditions with a rich calendar of cultural, sporting, musical, and gastronomic events that enliven the village for over a week.
The beating heart of the festival is Piazza della Repubblica, which transforms into a gathering point for families thanks to the return of the traditional San Pietro Fairground Rides. Surrounding the rides is a program designed for all ages: theatrical shows, meetings with authors, historical football matches, bocce tournaments, concerts, musicals, and social gatherings spread across Piazza della Repubblica, Via Roma, and the BiciGrill, beneath the Sacra.
Among the unmissable events is the White Dinner along Via Roma, a collective dinner where participants are strictly required to dress in white, which attracts a large crowd every year. Other highlights include concerts by the Società Filarmonica Chiusina, featuring the famous San Pietro Concert, band performances and DJ sets at the Giardino della Pace, and traditional bocce tournaments. The patronal day on June 28 brings the community together for Holy Mass and a procession in honor of Saints Peter and Paul.
The festival also features an outdoor painting competition dedicated to the village's scenery, the Pensioners' Snack, the "Under the Sacra" relay race, and, to close the festivities, a day dedicated to vintage cars with helicopter flights around the Sacra di San Michele. Organized by the municipal administration together with the Pro Loco Association Coordination and the Gruppo Chiusa 2.0, the Saints Peter and Paul Patronal Festival is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic hospitality of this village in the province of Turin and its extraordinary historical and landscape heritage.
The 2026 edition offers a particularly rich calendar in Chiusa di San Michele, in the province of Turin, with events spread across Piazza della Repubblica, Via Roma, the Giardino della Pace, and the BiciGrill, at the foot of the Sacra di San Michele.
The festivities open on June 18 with the "Under the Sacra" relay race at the BiciGrill and continue with concerts, theatrical performances, and social moments for the whole community. The patronal day of June 28 unites faith and popular celebration around Saints Peter and Paul.
