Saint Peter's Festival

A neighborhood festival that speaks to all of Asti

The Saint Peter's Festival is the patronal event of Borgo San Pietro, one of the historic districts of Asti, the capital of the province of the same name in Piedmont. Promoted by the Parish of San Pietro in Asti, the festival celebrates Saints Peter and Paul in late June and has evolved into an event that involves the entire city, successfully blending religious dimensions, cultural offerings, and authentic local festivities.

Faith, art, and culture under one roof

The spiritual heart of the festival remains the novena and the celebrations in honor of the two apostles, but in recent years the program has been enriched with high-quality cultural offerings. An art exhibition is set up in the church, dedicated to the figure of Saint Peter and the theme of vocation, accompanied by an in-depth conference and a film screening. There is also a biblical evening, designed as a moment of reflection open to everyone, believers and non-believers alike.

The Saint Peter's walk and conviviality

Among the most beloved events is the non-competitive walk of about 5 kilometers along the Tanaro riverbanks, which starts from the oratory and combines sport, nature, and friendship, with an aperitif at the finish line. The evenings in the courtyard, hosted by the San Fedele Committee, bring Piedmontese local cuisine to the table, while live music and shows warm up the atmosphere. For the little ones, there are free bouncy castles, games, and the traditional charity stall.

A community coming together

The final Sunday is dedicated to the celebration of wedding anniversaries, a touching moment that draws many families from the district and the province of Asti. The festival is the result of the shared work of the parish, the Borgo San Pietro Palio Committee, the San Fedele Committee, and various local associations, testifying to how deeply rooted this tradition is in the life of the district.

When and where

The festival takes place at the end of June at the Parish of San Pietro, in the heart of Borgo San Pietro in Asti. The parish offices are located at Corso Genova 14, while the church overlooks Piazza San Pietro. Admission to the events is free, with the sole exception of some activities that require booking or a participation fee (such as the walk).
