Saint Lawrence in Varmo, a Community Celebration

In the heart of summer, the village of Varmo, in the Bassa friulana region of the province of Udine, celebrates its patron saint with the Saint Lawrence Festival – in Friulian, San Laurinç – also known as Vil di Vâr in fieste (Varmo in celebration). It is an authentic village festival, organized by the parish kindergarten together with the municipal administration and local associations, which combines religious tradition, Friulian cuisine, and lots of music.

Three Days of Flavors and Music

The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls, where you can taste traditional Friulian dishes in a convivial atmosphere, and the live music that accompanies the evenings. The three days alternate moments of celebration for all ages: open kitchens, dancing, DJ sets, and offerings designed for both families and younger audiences. Sunday is dedicated to the Mass in honor of the patron saint, followed by the continuation of the festivities.

Varmo is located in an area of fields and waterways, along the routes that follow the Tagliamento river and the villages along the waterways.
