The patronal feast of Cerrione featuring a local market, brass band, and community lunch
The Saint George's Festival is the most cherished event in the calendar of Cerrione, a small town in the Basso Biellese area of the Province of Biella, in the heart of Piedmont. Dedicated to the patron saint, the celebration blends religious devotion with community life, involving the entire village in a spring weekend filled with music, markets, prayer, and shared meals.
The event is organized by the Cerrione Pro Loco in close collaboration with the local parish and the Alpini group. It is this synergy of volunteer work that gives the festival its authentic character: not a grand spectacle, but a genuine village feast where people gather, greet one another, and strengthen their sense of belonging.
The Saint George's Festival keeps alive a tradition that, like many Piedmontese festivals and patronal feasts, marks the rhythm of life in small villages. The market along Via Adua, the aroma of the lunch in the Alpini hall, and the notes of the band create a simple, genuine picture that attracts visitors from neighboring towns. It is an ideal opportunity to discover the warmth of the Basso Biellese and the hospitality of a community that makes its patronal feast an unmissable appointment.
