The Festival of Saint Anthony is the patronal festival of Gemona del Friuli, a town in the Province of Udine at the foot of the Julian Prealps. Saint Anthony of Padua is deeply venerated in the town, where a Sanctuary dedicated to him stands: every year, in mid-June, Gemona's residents gather around the sanctuary and the nearby Park of Via Dante for days of devotion and celebration.
Between faith, music, and gastronomy
The program intertwines the religious dimension – with liturgical celebrations in honor of the saint – and the popular one, with evenings of music, gastronomic stands run by volunteers, cultural events, and entertainment for families. To crown the festivities, as tradition dictates, is the fireworks display that lights up the Gemona sky.
A community festival
The Festival of Saint Anthony is one of the most cherished events in Gemona's calendar: an occasion where devotion and conviviality merge, bringing the community together around its patron saint. Promoted by the parish with the support of the Municipality of Gemona del Friuli, the festival also offers visitors the opportunity to discover the town and its history, marked by its rebirth after the 1976 earthquake.

The 2026 edition of the Festival of Saint Anthony takes place from June 10 to 14 in Gemona del Friuli. Around the Sanctuary of Saint Anthony and the Park of Via Dante, liturgical celebrations in honor of the patron saint, music evenings, gastronomic stands run by volunteers, cultural events, and family activities alternate, culminating in the traditional fireworks display that concludes the festivities.

How to get there: Gemona del Friuli (UD) is served by the A23 motorway (Gemona-Osoppo exit) and the Udine-Tarvisio railway; the Sanctuary of Saint Anthony and the Park of Via Dante are in the town center.
