From the Carmine festival to the meat festival

The Sagra Veronéla in Gradéla – Festa delle Carni Rosse is the summer event in Veronella, in the province of Verona, Veneto. Heir to the traditional Sagra della Madonna del Carmine (Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel), the event has evolved into a large festival dedicated to grilled meat and the promotion of the Veronese livestock supply chain, while maintaining its connection to the religious occasion of the Carmine.

Meat takes centre stage

The absolute star is the certified beef from the Consorzio Sigillo Italiano, offered every evening at the food stands with table service. The fun heart of the festival is the amateur grilling competition 'Veronéla in Gradéla', organised in collaboration with Unicarve, which puts barbecue enthusiasts to the test in a fun and irreverent way, to promote local farms.

A complete village festival

Alongside the food, the festival offers musical evenings, dancing, a funfair, and a religious moment with the Holy Mass and procession in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, accompanied by the Veronella band. Organised by the Pro Loco Veronella APS, it is one of the most attended summer festivals in the Bassa Veronese region.
