The Sagra di San Giovanni Battista in Oppeano
The Sagra di San Giovanni Battista is the patronal festival of Oppeano, a municipality in the Bassa Veronese region, in the province of Verona, and one of the longest-running sagre (local festivals) in the area. It takes place at the Le Fratte Sports Centre, on Via Domenico Marcolongo, and is organized by the Gruppo Giovani di Oppeano (Oppeano Youth Group) with the support of the Municipality, Pro Loco (local tourism board), and the Parish.
Music, Dancing, and Motorcycle Rally
The programme features performances by traditional music orchestras, dance evenings, DJ sets, and musical tributes, along with the traditional motorcycle rally to kick things off. Every evening, rich food and wine stands serve dishes from Venetian cuisine, acting as a meeting point for families and young people.
A Festival for the Community
Dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, whose liturgical feast day is on June 24th, the sagra is much more than a religious festival: it is the main summer gathering event for the town. Amidst live music, dancing, and conviviality, the event renews the bond between Oppeano and its traditions every year, in the heart of the Veronese plain.

The Sagra di San Giovanni Battista 2026
The 2026 edition, the 58th, of the Sagra di San Giovanni Battista will be held in Oppeano from June 18 to 23, at the Le Fratte Sports Centre. Every evening, the rich food and wine stands will be open from 8:00 PM, serving dishes from the Venetian tradition.
The music programme features traditional music orchestras, dance evenings, DJ sets, and tribute moments, with the traditional motorcycle rally. The festival is organized by the Gruppo Giovani di Oppeano with the support of the Municipality, Pro Loco, and the Parish.
