A festival that tells the story of the norcini

The Sagra della Porchetta e dei Fagioli con le Cotiche takes place at the Campo Sportivo in Monte Santa Maria Tiberina, a village in the province of Perugia located on the border with Tuscany. The event, organised by the active local Pro Loco (local tourism board), celebrates the ancient and esteemed school of norcini of the area, guardians of a tradition of pork processing passed down through generations.

The flavours of peasant tradition

The stars of the table are fagioli con le cotiche (beans with pork rind) among the first courses and porchetta (roast pork) among the second courses, according to the popular saying that "nothing of the pig goes to waste". The menu is completed with appetizers, handmade pasta with mushrooms, focaccias with local cured meats, and traditional desserts. A simple and generous cuisine, rediscovering the flavours of the past.

Music and conviviality

Every evening the festival is enlivened by musical entertainment, with live musicians on the festival stage and a dedicated space for young people at the Petunia Pig Pub. A convivial event that combines gastronomy and fun, enhancing the traditions of the village of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina.
