The Cagno Potato Festival
The Sagra della Patata e dei Prodotti d'Autunno is one of the longest-running and most beloved gastronomic festivals in the Como region. It takes place in Cagno, now part of the municipality of Solbiate con Cagno (Province of Como), and is organised by the Pro Loco Cagno, also known as the I Trematera association. Now in its twenty-first edition in 2025, the festival celebrates the potato and the flavours of the autumn season with a rich menu rooted in mountain tradition.
The potato on the table
The absolute star is the potato, featured in many recipes: frico with sausage, a trio of aged goat cheese, classic potato and provola pasta, traditional tripe with potatoes, and numerous variations of stuffed polenta, with toppings such as sausage, gorgonzola, or donkey meat. A journey through the authentic flavours of Lombardy's autumn, to be enjoyed at the tables of the Palazzetto.
Not just gastronomy
The festival is also about celebration and entertainment. The programme includes exhibitions of forest sports, comedy shows, and nature walks to enjoy the surrounding landscape. Stalls selling local products and crafts complete the offering, perfect for discovering the region's excellences and taking home a souvenir.

Held at the Palazzetto Internazionale dello Sport in Via Brella, the Sagra della Patata is an event that combines taste, community, and tradition in this corner of Lombardy near the Swiss border. Over twenty years of history make it an unmissable autumn classic in the local area.

Building on a tradition of over twenty years, the Sagra della Patata e dei Prodotti d'Autunno returns in autumn 2026 to the Palazzetto in Via Brella, Cagno.
