The Sagra della Lumaca (Snail Festival) in Cantalupo, a hamlet of Bevagna in the province of Perugia, has been a landmark for lovers of traditional Umbrian cuisine for decades. Cantalupo is known as "the village of the snail": the absolute star is the lumaca aspersa (aspersa snail), a native species of the territory, raised and cooked according to methods rooted in peasant tradition.

The 47th edition of the Sagra della Lumaca enlivens Cantalupo di Bevagna from August 21st to 30th, 2026. The Pro Loco Cantalupo Castelbuono offers every evening specialties based on lumaca aspersa (aspersa snail), cooked according to local peasant tradition and accompanied by local products, primarily oil and wine. For all days of the event, the Centro Polivalente hosts exhibitions, craft displays, and local product showcases.

How to get there
Cantalupo is a hamlet of Bevagna (PG), reachable by car from the SS3 Flaminia or the SS316 dei Monti Martani. The nearest train station is Foligno (Rome-Ancona line). Parking is available near the Centro Polivalente.
Food stand
The Pro Loco stand is open every evening for the entire duration of the festival. Reservations are recommended on days with high attendance.
