In Acquasparta, in the province of Terni, November is the month of new wine. The Sagra del Vino Novello e dei Prodotti Tipici Locali celebrates the first wine of the year with a series of tasting evenings that fill the historic centre of the village, around the picturesque Piazza Federico Cesi and the arcades of Palazzo Cesi.

The stars of the sagra are the new wine, bruschetta, and roasted chestnuts, accompanied by local typical products. Alongside the tastings in the square, there is an exhibition dedicated to the tools of vine growers and farmers, set up under the arcades of Palazzo Cesi: a way to showcase the rural culture and wine-making tradition of the area.
A community celebration
Organised by the Carnival Committee together with the local Pro Loco (tourist board) and with the patronage of the Municipality, the sagra is one of the most cherished autumn events for the community of Acquasparta. The tavern set up for the occasion offers specialities of Umbrian cuisine, completing an offering that combines conviviality, gastronomy, and the promotion of local products in the heart of Umbria.

For 2026, the Sagra del Vino Novello e dei Prodotti Tipici Locali is expected again in its usual period in November in Acquasparta. The event, now around thirty years old, will once again offer tasting evenings of new wine along with bruschetta, roasted chestnuts, and local products in Piazza Federico Cesi.
