About Sagra del Rosario
A festival between faith and tradition
The Sagra del Rosario in Cappella Maggiore, in the province of Treviso, is one of the most deeply rooted autumn festivals in the foothills of the Treviso area, at the foot of the Cansiglio plateau. Dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, it combines the religious dimension — with the solemn Mass and procession — with the popular dimension of a great community festival.
Spit roast and Oktoberfest
The gourmet heart of the event is the food and wine stall with the giant spit roast and the beer stand in an Oktoberfest style, which brings the atmosphere of Bavarian festivals to Cappella Maggiore, also thanks to the twinning with a German delegation.
Ancient trades and culture
Among the most evocative events is the re-enactment of ancient travelling trades, with costumed figures in period dress, accompanied by screenings of documentaries on 20th-century rural life and by band and baroque concerts. The traditional Luna Park is open for the entire duration of the festival.
A festival for the whole community
The event, promoted by the Pro Loco of Cappella Maggiore together with the parish of Santa Maria Maddalena, the Municipality, and local associations, takes place in Piazzale Donatori del Sangue and represents a moment of strong cohesion for the town and for the entire foothills region of Veneto.
Sagra del Rosario — edition 2026
The 2026 edition confirms the traditional early October event, although the precise dates have not yet been published. The festival maintains its proven formula: solemn Mass and procession of Our Lady of the Rosary, food and wine stall with spit roast and Oktoberfest-style beer, re-enactment of ancient trades with costumed figures, documentaries on rural life, concerts, and Luna Park for the entire duration of the festival.

- Friday — Screening of documentaries on 20th-century rural life; opening of the food and wine stall
- Saturday — Welcome of the German delegation, gastronomic moments with the Alpini, baroque concert
- Sunday — Re-enactment of ancient travelling trades with costumed figures, solemn Mass and procession of Our Lady of the Rosary, band concerts
- Throughout the event — Giant spit roast, Oktoberfest-style beer stand, and traditional Luna Park
