The Truffles of Valnerina

The Sagra del Tartufo di Arrone focuses on the summer black truffle (scorzone), one of the specialities of Valnerina, the valley of the Nera river winding through the province of Terni. Known as the valley's "black gold," the truffle has been a resource of these woods for centuries, and in Arrone, it becomes the star of a festival that combines taste, nature, and tradition.

Dishes and Atmosphere

The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Arrone, takes place at the sports facilities in Via Pié d'Arrone. The food stand offers a menu entirely dedicated to truffles: tagliatelle, gnocchi, bruschetta, meat dishes, and even desserts, accompanied by local wines. Live music enlivens the festival every evening.

Among the Truffle Woods

In addition to the gastronomic offerings, the festival includes walks and guided tours in the truffle woods surrounding the village, providing an opportunity to get up close with the natural environment of Valnerina and learn about truffle hunting techniques. Arrone, a medieval village just a few kilometres from the famous Marmore Waterfall, provides the ideal backdrop for an event that celebrates the valley's identity.
