The Terzolas Patronal Feast

Every second Sunday of July, the small municipality of Terzolas, nestled on a wide glacial terrace in the lower Val di Sole, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), celebrates its patronal feast dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 2026, the event falls on Sunday, July 12. It is the most anticipated religious and community event of the year, a moment when the entire village unites around its tradition of faith.

The Church and the Capuchin Convent

The feast is closely linked to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is part of the Capuchin Convent in Terzolas. The convent was rebuilt between 1894 and 1896 at the entrance to the Val di Rabbi, replacing the ancient convent of Malè, which was destroyed by a major fire in 1892. The church was completed in the spring of 1896 and consecrated on August 8 of the same year by Bishop Eugenio Carlo Valussi. Since then, the complex has been a spiritual landmark for the entire valley, serving today as a holiday house and a center for retreats and pastoral activities by the Capuchin friars.

Between Devotion and Community

The patronal day revolves around liturgical celebrations: the solemn Holy Mass and moments of prayer dedicated to the Sacred Heart, the core of the Franciscan spirituality that inspires the community.
