Two days of emerging music and cross-pollination in the Parco della Resistenza of Santa Sofia
Born in 2017 as a music blog and transformed into a full-fledged festival in 2020 through the collaboration between Rumors Music Blog, the Pro Loco of Santa Sofia, and the Municipality, Rumors Festival is now one of the most recognizable events of the summer music scene in the Forlì-Cesena Apennines. It takes place in Santa Sofia, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, on the edge of the Casentinesi Forests National Park, in a territory where the mountains, the Bidente river, and the ridges form the natural backdrop for the music.
The festival's identity is clear: to give space to emerging artists, new sounds, and evolving musical paths, with a program that spans different languages and rejects rigid labels. It's no coincidence that artists like Colombre, Post Nebbia, Joan Thiele, and Bnkr44 have performed on Rumors' stages before becoming well-known, many of whom later reached the Sanremo Festival and major national stages. For those who love discovering music before it becomes mainstream, Rumors is a privileged observatory.
Rumors is not just live music: each edition intertwines DJ sets, talks and meetings with authors and journalists, immersive installations by artistic collectives, excursions into the surrounding nature, food truck areas, and spaces dedicated to socializing. The festival regularly collaborates with local entities, bookstores, and associations, building an experience that goes beyond the stage and brings together music, thought, and landscape.
Each edition revolves around a concept that guides its atmosphere and content: after the "Mutamenti" (Changes) and "Prime Melodie" (First Melodies) of previous editions, the 2026 edition is dedicated to Pangea, the single landmass that existed before humanity drew lines of separation between continents, cultures, and political borders. A common thread that becomes a metaphor for music itself: a space without barriers where genres merge.
Access to the Parco della Resistenza is always free: this makes Rumors an open and accessible festival, capable of attracting a young and curious audience from all over Romagna and beyond to Santa Sofia. An opportunity to combine musical discovery with a weekend immersed in the greenery of the upper Bidente valley.
The 2026 edition of Rumors Festival brings the theme 'Pangea · Before Borders' to Santa Sofia: a nod to the original, unified landmass that existed before humanity drew lines of separation between continents, cultures, and political borders. A perfect metaphor for a festival whose identity is built on the cross-pollination of genres.
Two evenings at the Parco della Resistenza, starting from 6:30 PM, with free admission. Alongside the music, the edition features immersive installations by the collectives Floes and ONDEURBANE, talks with authors and journalists, a bar area, and food trucks.
Evenings start from 6:30 PM.
Santa Sofia is located in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the upper Bidente valley. By car, it can be reached from Forlì by taking the SS310 del Bidente (about 40 minutes).
