About Rubano Carnival

Every Carnival, Rubano, in the province of Padua, is colored by its traditional parade of allegorical floats and masked groups. About fifteen floats cross the town amidst music, masks, and lots of fun, with crostoli and fritters for everyone and the final award for the most beautiful floats. A community celebration organized by local associations, eagerly awaited by young and old, which brings the colors and flavors of the Venetian Carnival to the streets.

The Rubano Carnival

The Rubano Carnival, in the province of Padua, is one of the town's most beloved festivals, with a history of over twenty-five editions. In the heart of winter, on a Sunday in February, the streets of Rubano fill with colors, music, and masks for the grand parade of allegorical floats.

The parade of floats

The procession, which includes about fifteen allegorical floats and several masked groups, crosses the town accompanied by music and entertainment. Along the route, there are the typical sweets of the Venetian Carnival, crostoli and frittelle, offered to all participants. The festival concludes with the award ceremony for the floats.

A community celebration

The event is organized by the Circolo Santa Maria Assunta with the collaboration of local associations — including the municipal AVIS of Bosco di Rubano and the CSI Rubano Sports Union — and the patronage of the Municipality. It is a festival entirely animated by volunteers, designed especially for families and children.

Carnival in the Padua area

Among the many Carnival traditions of the Veneto region, the Rubano Carnival is a genuine and participatory local event, which combines the fantasy of the floats with the taste of typical sweets and the joy of the masked festival.
