The parade of allegorical floats of Rubano
The Rubano Carnival, in the province of Padua, is one of the town's most beloved festivals, with a history of over twenty-five editions. In the heart of winter, on a Sunday in February, the streets of Rubano fill with colors, music, and masks for the grand parade of allegorical floats.
The procession, which includes about fifteen allegorical floats and several masked groups, crosses the town accompanied by music and entertainment. Along the route, there are the typical sweets of the Venetian Carnival, crostoli and frittelle, offered to all participants. The festival concludes with the award ceremony for the floats.
The event is organized by the Circolo Santa Maria Assunta with the collaboration of local associations — including the municipal AVIS of Bosco di Rubano and the CSI Rubano Sports Union — and the patronage of the Municipality. It is a festival entirely animated by volunteers, designed especially for families and children.
Among the many Carnival traditions of the Veneto region, the Rubano Carnival is a genuine and participatory local event, which combines the fantasy of the floats with the taste of typical sweets and the joy of the masked festival.
The 2026 edition of the Rubano Carnival returns on a Sunday in February, with the usual parade of allegorical floats.
The procession starts in the early afternoon (from 2:00 PM) from Bosco di Rubano, with about fifteen floats and several masked groups crossing the town to the church of Rubano. Along the route, there will be music, entertainment, and the traditional crostoli and fritters for everyone; at the end, the award ceremony for the floats. The event is organized by the Circolo Santa Maria Assunta with local associations.
In case of bad weather, the parade is canceled, and the entertainment with crostoli and fritters is moved to the Patronato of Rubano.
