The Ancient Festival of Our Lady of Tessara is one of the most deeply rooted events in Curtarolo, in the province of Padua. It is held every October at the sanctuary of Santa Maria di Non, also known as Madonna di Tessara, on the banks of the Brenta river, a destination of fervent local devotion. The festival traditionally falls around the second Sunday of October.
Devotion and procession
The religious heart of the festival is the kissing of the relic and the solemn Saturday evening procession in honor of Our Lady. The sanctuary, dependent on the parish of Santa Maria di Non, attracts faithful from all over the Padua region.
