The September festival in Pionca
The Pionca Festival is the most anticipated event in the hamlet of Pionca di Vigonza, in the province of Padua. Every September, around the parish church of Sant'Ambrogio, in via Meucci, the community gathers for days of celebration that combine religious tradition, gastronomy, and entertainment.
Gastronomy, games, and horses
The heart of the festival is the food stand, open every evening with traditional dishes, alongside the funfair, the charity raffle, and children's games. Among the most characteristic events is Pionca Cavalli, the equestrian event that brings shows and horse demonstrations to the village, along with vintage car and motorcycle parades.
Sports, workshops, and community
The program also includes sports events, workshops, and entertainment, in a format that involves all ages. The festival is an occasion for meeting and socializing, in the spirit that has always animated village festivals in the Padua area.
A parish event
The Pionca Festival is organized by the Parish of S. Ambrogio of Pionca, as part of the Pastoral Unit of Peraga, Pionca, Vigonza, and Codiverno, thanks to the commitment of volunteers. It is a fixed event on Vigonza's late summer calendar.
Pionca Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Pionca Festival takes place from September 12 to 16 around the church of Sant'Ambrogio in Pionca di Vigonza. The festivities will be opened by a dinner on Thursday, September 11 (8:00 PM) themed 'Laughter starts here!', by reservation.
For five days, the festival offers the food stand, funfair, charity raffle, sports events, Pionca Cavalli with equestrian shows, vintage car and motorcycle parades, and workshops. The event is organized by the Parish S. Ambrogio of Pionca.
