Four evenings of street food, live music, and entertainment in Rometta Marea
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Rometta Street Food Summer is one of the most anticipated summer events in the Tyrrhenian area of Messina. The festival takes place in the seaside district of Rometta Marea, along Corso Francesco Saija. For four consecutive evenings in July, the main street fills with food stalls, a live music stage, and areas dedicated to sports and families. The event, organized by the Municipality of Rometta in collaboration with Euforia Event / Torre Food and A.S.C. Production, with the patronage of the Sicilian Region, is completely free and open to all.
The heart of the festival is its culinary offering, celebrating street food from the island and across Southern Italy. Among the stalls, you will find traditional Sicilian specialties, Nebrodi cured meats, local craft beer, pastries, and gelato. There are also live cooking shows featuring master pizza makers and pastry chefs, along with famous faces from television cooking shows, turning Corso Francesco Saija into a gourmet path to be discovered while strolling.
Every evening, the Rometta Marea stage hosts live concerts, tribute bands, DJ sets, and special guests from the entertainment world, with evenings hosted by presenters and entertainment for audiences of all ages. The long weekend format, from Thursday to Sunday, allows visitors to experience the festival at different paces: from evening aperitifs to late-night musical performances.
Alongside food and music, Rometta Street Food Summer dedicates space to sports, with five-a-side football tournaments at the municipal field and meetings with local athletes and champions. It is a festival that highlights the identity of the Rometta community and the typical hospitality of the Messina Tyrrhenian coast, in a convivial atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the province of Messina.
Included in the calendar of summer events for the province of Messina, in Sicily, Rometta Street Food Summer is a well-loved tradition for both residents and tourists, successfully combining a passion for high-quality street food with the pleasure of an evening outdoors by the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The 2026 edition of Rometta Street Food Summer does not yet have official dates. Following the success of previous years, the event is expected to return in July to Rometta Marea, along Corso Francesco Saija, with the usual program of street food, live cooking, live music, and free shows. Information regarding dates, the line-up, and guests will be released by the organizers and through the Euforia Event social media channels.
Rometta Marea is located along the Tyrrhenian coast of the province of Messina. By car, it can be reached via the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway (take the Villafranca Tirrena or Rometta exits) and continuing along the coastal road. By train, the reference station is Rometta Messinese / Villafranca Tirrena, on the Tyrrhenian line. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa, while Reggio Calabria can be reached by ferry from Messina.
Admission to the event is free. Food stalls and shows generally begin in the evening (from around 7:00 PM). For street food, tokens must be purchased at designated points within the event area.
We recommend arriving early on concert nights to find parking near Corso Francesco Saija.
