About Roma Borgata Festival Tor Marancia

The Tor Marancia stop of the Roma Borgata Festival brings theatre, dance, contemporary circus, and music to Parco della Torre in the southern part of Rome. From June 15 to 21, 2026, the park hosts performance workshops, national premieres, and open-air shows designed for the neighbourhood, with symbolic tickets costing just 1 or 2 euros. A cultural project that takes the contemporary scene out of the city centre and directly to the people of the suburbs.

The Roma Borgata Festival in the Tor Marancia suburb

The Roma Borgata Festival is a widespread festival that brings live performance to the suburbs of the Capital, following the path of the Grande Raccordo Anulare. In its second edition, running from May 9 to September 13, 2026, the festival spans eight neighbourhoods with over eighty events including theatre, dance, music, contemporary circus, workshops, and artistic residencies. From June 15 to 21, 2026, it reaches the Tor Marancia suburb in Rome's Municipio VIII, based at Parco della Torre.

A week of performances at Parco della Torre

For one week, the Tor Marancia park transforms into an open-air stage. The programme for this stop weaves together Circosvago performance workshops, the new Fiammiferi project by Associazione Abra, and the premiere of the show Senza fissa Dimora by Giulia Ananìa and Tiziano Panici. The offerings alternate between participatory moments dedicated to residents and young people, and evening events designed for the entire community.

A festival that chooses the suburbs

The heart of the Roma Borgata Festival is the idea of restoring culture to peripheral neighbourhoods, often far from the main performance circuits. The public can follow the festival as a single travelling calendar or encounter it right outside their door, in familiar places of daily life. The artistic direction is entrusted to Alessandra Muschella, and the project is produced by A.S.A.P.Q. - Associazione Socioculturale Attività Polivalente di Quartiere, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Lazio Region, and the patronage of five Municipalities and ATER Roma.

Tor Marancia, between Rome and its outskirts

Tor Marancia is a suburb in the southern quadrant of Rome, in the Lazio region, nestled between the Ardeatino area and the large green spaces that mark the border with the Roman countryside. Bringing theatre and contemporary circus here means telling the story of a city that also lives outside its historic centre: Parco della Torre thus becomes a meeting point for artists and residents, in one of the Capital's most deeply rooted experiences of local culture.
