The historical re-enactment along the Brenta Riviera
Riviera Fiorita is the historical re-enactment that animates the Brenta Riviera every September, the enchanting waterway dotted with Venetian villas connecting Padua to Venice. The event, established in 1977, begins at Villa Pisani in Stra, in the province of Venice, one of the most monumental residences in the Veneto region.
The heart of the event is the re-enactment of the passage of the King of France Henry III, which occurred in 1574 along the Brenta. A grand water procession of historic boats – many from the Venice Historical Regatta – with figures strictly dressed in 18th-century costumes, sails along the river, celebrating the splendor of the Venetian nobility who had chosen this area as their holiday and celebration spot.
In addition to the procession, Riviera Fiorita offers numerous cultural initiatives, exhibitions, and meetings, as well as pleasant food and wine opportunities. The event unfolds along the riverside municipalities, from Stra to Malcontenta, where it concludes with awards, offering visitors and tourists an immersion into the elegance and history of the Venetian territory.
The 48th edition of Riviera Fiorita is expected in September 2026. As per established tradition, the main event is the water procession on the second Sunday of September, starting from Villa Pisani in Stra in the early morning and concluding in Malcontenta. Specific dates and the detailed program will be published on the official website closer to the event.
