About Riviera Fiorita
The Brenta as in the 18th Century
Riviera Fiorita is the grand historical re-enactment of the Riviera del Brenta, the river axis dotted with Venetian villas connecting Venice to Padua. Founded in 1977, it celebrates the splendour of the Venetian nobility who had their summer residences along the Brenta, and particularly re-enacts the passage of King Henry III of France, hosted along the river in 1574.
The Water Pageant
The heart of the day is the water pageant: historic boats — the same ones used in Venetian regattas — and costumed figures travel up the Brenta from Stra to Malcontenta, passing through the Municipalities of the Riviera, including Dolo. Along the route, awards are given to rowing clubs and there are festive moments in the riverside towns.
Events in the Villas and in Dolo
A programme of cultural initiatives unfolds in the Venetian villas around the pageant: in Dolo, events are held in historic residences such as Villa Ferretti Angeli and Villa Ducale, with theatrical and cultural performances. The event is organised by the Riviera del Brenta Tourist Information Office, based at Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari in Mira.
Riviera Fiorita — edition 2026
The 48th edition of Riviera Fiorita is scheduled for the second Sunday of September 2026, with an extended calendar of initiatives in the preceding days. The highlight remains the water pageant which, with historic boats and costumed figures, travels up the Brenta from Stra to Malcontenta, passing through the Municipalities of the Riviera, including Dolo. The detailed programme, with timings and events at individual villas, will be published by the organisers in the weeks before.
