The Riverock Festival
Born in 2013, the Riverock Festival is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in Assisi (province of Perugia, Umbria). The venue is exceptional: the Rocca Maggiore, the imposing medieval fortress that dominates the city of St. Francis from above and offers a unique scenic backdrop for evening concerts.
Music, Talks, and Cross-Pollination
The festival offers five days of concerts and DJ sets, alongside meetings, talks, and live podcasts. The programming ranges from singer-songwriter music to rap, from indie to electronic, with a particular focus on the most interesting and visionary voices on the Italian scene. Over the years, artists such as Fabri Fibra, Venerus, Joan Thiele, Dardust, and many others have graced the Rocca's stage.
A Festival Spread Across the Territory
In addition to the summer event, Riverock continues throughout the year with its "Inverni" (Winters) season and concerts at the Teatro Lyrick in Assisi. The event is organized by the Riverock Association with the support of the Municipality of Assisi and the Umbria Region, and has become a benchmark for the regional music scene.

The new edition of the Riverock Festival confirms Rocca Maggiore in Assisi as the main stage. The big news for 2026 is the return of Bluvertigo, the historic band led by Morgan, which will perform on July 24th in an exclusive date for Umbria, accompanied by Sarafine.
Also on the bill is Fabri Fibra, a master of Italian rap, and Gio Evan's Evanland festival, a "festival of the inner world," integrated into the dates of July 25-26. The summer event then extends into autumn with concerts by Fiorella Mannoia (October 11) and Mario Biondi (November 11) at the Teatro Lyrick in Assisi.

How to get there
The Rocca Maggiore can be reached on foot from the historic center of Assisi (challenging uphill walk). By train: Santa Maria degli Angeli station with a shuttle bus to the center. By car: parking in the historic center.

Recommendations
Comfortable shoes are recommended for the climb to the Rocca, and a sweatshirt for the evenings, as it can be cool even in summer at altitude.
