The village of Ripattoni becomes an open-air museum of art, music, and performance
RipattoniArte is an artistic event that transforms the village of Ripattoni, in the municipality of Bellante (Teramo province), into a true open-air museum every July. Founded in 2006 by the Pro Loco Ripattoni APS and the BellantArte association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bellante, the festival aims to restore the connection between the territory, its ancient villages, and their livability, celebrating talent and creativity through visual arts, music, literature, and local gastronomy.
The heart of the event is Palazzo Saliceti, which, along with the alleys, small squares, and stone houses of the village, hosts exhibitions, site-specific installations, paintings, photography, and sculpture. Strolling through Ripattoni during the festival means discovering art in every corner: urban interventions, displays in historic spaces, and works specifically designed to interact with the architecture of this Abruzzese village.
Each edition of RipattoniArte is built around a theme that guides artistic choices and programming. Over the years, themes such as Art and Movement, Inventors of the Future, and The Artist and Space have engaged dozens of artists and collectives from Abruzzo and other Italian regions.
Alongside the exhibitions, the program offers a rich selection of live performances:
Conviviality is an integral part of RipattoniArte: every evening, the food stalls managed by the Pro Loco offer delicacies from the Teramo tradition, allowing visitors to pair their artistic discoveries with the typical flavors of the region. The festival is a unique opportunity to experience the village, meet the artists, and rediscover the identity of a small Abruzzese community.
Having grown year after year, the event is now one of the most anticipated summer cultural highlights in the Teramo area, supported by the Abruzzo Region, the Province of Teramo, and local entities. RipattoniArte represents a model for the revitalization of small villages through art, attracting visitors and breathing new life into the streets of Ripattoni.
The 20th edition of RipattoniArte is confirmed from July 18 to 26, 2026, in the village of Ripattoni, in the municipality of Bellante (Teramo). The theme chosen for the twentieth anniversary is "The Artist, the Visible, and the Invisible", a guiding thread that will lead exhibitions, installations, and performances along the village streets and at Palazzo Saliceti.
Once again this year, the event, organized by the Pro Loco Ripattoni APS and BellantArte, will feature contemporary art, evening concerts, theatrical and circus performances, workshops for children, and food stalls showcasing the Teramo tradition. The full program, including the list of artists and schedules, will be announced by the organizers on the festival's official channels in the weeks preceding the event.
