About Leporano Summer

Relive the Leporano Summer is the major summer festival hosted by the Municipality of Leporano, in the province of Taranto. Since July, it has been enlivening the town's squares and coastal areas with dozens of free events. Concerts, theatrical performances, cabaret, food festivals, craft workshops, guided tours, and activities for children fill the Salento-Ionian summer, in a program that blends popular culture, live entertainment, and the promotion of local traditions.

A summer of events in Leporano

Relive the Leporano Summer is the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Leporano, a small town overlooking the Ionian Sea in the province of Taranto, in the heart of Puglia. Now in its twenty-eighth edition in 2025, the event transforms the town's squares, historic center, and coastal areas into a large open-air stage for weeks, with a packed calendar of free-entry events that accompanies residents and tourists throughout the summer season.

A multidisciplinary program

The program of Relive the Leporano Summer is designed for all ages and tastes. It ranges from folk music to big names in show business, from theater to comedy, and from guided tours to the rediscovery of local craftsmanship. There is no shortage of evenings dedicated to pop and singer-songwriter music, concerts by local marching bands, comedy and cabaret shows, and performances by theater companies from Puglia and Campania.

  • Concerts and music: evenings with national artists and local groups, from cover bands to brass band concerts.
  • Theater and culture: shows, readings, and book presentations, often hosted in the evocative setting of the Castello Muscettola.
  • Comedy and cabaret: events designed for the entertainment of adults and children alike.
  • Traditions and gastronomy: food festivals, tastings, and live workshops with engravers, master pasta makers, and cheesemakers to rediscover the trades and flavors of the region.

Culture, inclusion, and community

One of the distinctive features of the festival is its focus on inclusion and the participation of the entire community. Alongside the shows, there are initiatives for the little ones, such as the play village dedicated to children, and events designed for people with disabilities, made possible thanks to the contribution of local associations. Recurring events also include the Donna dei Due Mari (Woman of the Two Seas) award, a recognition dedicated to female excellence that is renewed every year in the summer program.

Leporano, between sea and history

Leporano is one of the most appreciated destinations on the Ionian coast of Taranto, famous for its seaside areas, the Bay of Saturo with its namesake archaeological park, and the Castello Muscettola that dominates the village. Relive the Leporano Summer was born from the desire to enhance this heritage, weaving together entertainment, tradition, and local identity into one big town festival that lasts all summer long.
