The international track and field meeting in Garda Trentino
The Queen Arco Games, also known as the QARCO Games, are an international track and field meeting held at the Via Pomerio Sports Center in the town of Arco, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Garda Trentino. Established just a few years ago, the event has quickly cemented its reputation as one of the most prestigious athletic gatherings in Trentino-Alto Adige, ranking third in regional importance behind the Palio della Quercia in Rovereto and the Pergine International Meeting.
The event is part of the World Athletics Global Calendar: results achieved in Arco are valid for international rankings, a recognition that attracts top-tier athletes from across Italy and abroad. The program alternates between sprint and jump events, with a special focus on the high jump, the meeting's signature event dubbed Eagle King and Eagle Queen.
The races take place in the late afternoon and evening, when the summer heat of Lake Garda subsides and athletes can perform at their best. The scheduled events include:
One of the distinctive features of the Queen Arco Games is the prize pool, which rewards not only the winners but also those who achieve notable times, measurements, or set new meeting records. This mechanism encourages athletes to push their limits and has made the event particularly spectacular for spectators.
For years, Arco has been one of Italy's capitals for outdoor sports: climbing, cycling, trail running, and road running all find ideal conditions here thanks to the mild climate and the landscape between the lake and the Brenta Dolomites. The Queen Arco Games enrich this calendar with track and field athletics, offering the Garda Trentino community an evening of high-level sport and families a festive occasion around the Via Pomerio Sports Center.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the Via Pomerio Sports Center in Arco will host the sixth edition of the Queen Arco Games. The event, included in the World Athletics Global Calendar, offers a prize pool of over 10,000 euros distributed among the winners of individual races and athletes who achieve notable performances or new meeting records.
At the heart of the evening is the men's and women's high jump (Eagle King and Eagle Queen), with special prizes for those who break the meeting records. The calendar also includes the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and pole vault, as well as events for youth categories (Ragazzi and Cadetti) and Masters. Among the expected protagonists are the reigning high jump champions Asia Tavernini and Manuel Lando.
There are no minimum entry times, except for the pole vault and the 200 meters.
The Via Pomerio Sports Center is located in Arco (TN). By car: take the A22 Brenner motorway to the Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord exit, then follow the SS240 towards Riva del Garda and Arco. By train: arrive at Rovereto or Trento station, then take a local bus to Arco.
Races take place in the late afternoon and evening. Public access to the stands is generally free; for information on registration and the detailed program, please consult the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) and the organizing committee.
