Quarrata World Music is one of the most evocative musical events of the Pistoia summer. Established in 2022, the festival takes place in the Prato dei Ciclamini, located within the grounds of Villa Medicea La Magia—a historic residence in Quarrata (Province of Pistoia) inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list alongside other Medici Villas and Gardens in Tuscany. This exceptional setting provides the perfect backdrop for open-air live music, with the audience immersed in the lush greenery of the Tuscan countryside.

A festival of world music and cross-cultural fusion

True to its name, the festival's guiding thread is world music: a sonic journey spanning Mediterranean folk traditions to global musical cultures, including singer-songwriter works, rhythm and blues, and experimental repertoires. Over the years, the stage has hosted prominent national and international artists, from Peppe Servillo to James Senese with Napoli Centrale, from the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare to Amara, and the Orchestra Multietnica di Arezzo. The programming celebrates the encounter between diverse cultures and musical languages.

Villa Medicea La Magia: A unique setting

Villa La Magia is one of the most fascinating Medici residences in the region. Purchased by the Medici family in the 16th century, it preserves a vast historic park that transforms into a natural open-air theater during the festival.
