The traveling festival of the Lower Monferrato stops in Aramengo, blending nature, memory, and theatre
The Quadila Festival is a traveling cultural event that brings the hills of the Lower Monferrato to life every summer, spanning the provinces of Turin and Asti. Organized by the Lo Stagno di Goethe ETS theatre company from Albugnano, the festival winds through seven municipalities—Albugnano, Casalborgone, Aramengo, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Cerreto d'Asti, Pino d'Asti, and Berzano San Pietro—bringing performances, concerts, theatrical walks, and sensory experiences to the most evocative spots in the region. Its philosophy combines culture, nature, and conviviality with a light touch, celebrating the heritage of these small Piedmontese villages.
The 2026 edition, the sixth of the series, kicks off on July 9 and revolves around the theme "Paths of Sense": an invitation to rediscover the sensory dimension of human experience, looking beyond the dominance of sight to reconnect with hearing, touch, taste, and smell. The program alternates between sensory walks in the dark, night trekking, workshops for young people, tastings of local products, and theatrical performances hosted in churches, courtyards, and scenic areas of the Monferrato.
In Aramengo, a small town in the province of Asti, the festival stop is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2026, and unfolds in three parts between the late afternoon and evening:
The Aramengo stop is one piece of a cultural project that aims to turn the Monferrato hills into a widespread stage. The Quadila Festival evenings are held in open-air locations and historic spaces across the various municipalities, guiding the public through an experience that combines gentle hiking, local food and wine, and live performance. The traveling format allows visitors to discover villages, churches, and scenic viewpoints that are often overlooked.
All festival events are free to attend, with voluntary donations accepted to support the festival, but mandatory booking is required for each activity. Reservations can be made via the official website and via WhatsApp at the numbers provided by the organizers. For the Aramengo evening, it is advisable to book in advance, especially for the walk and the Pro Loco apericena.
The Aramengo evening on July 11, 2026, opens at 5:30 PM with the "Memory and Nature" nature walk, led by Lucia Cane, starting from the Don Pino Puglisi Panoramic Area and including a visit to the Romanesque church of San Giorgio.
