Singer-songwriter music meets the flavors of Monferrato in the heart of Casalborgone
Every summer, the small town of Casalborgone, in the Province of Turin, becomes one of the most anticipated stops of Monferrato On Stage, a traveling festival that winds through the Monferrato hills across the provinces of Turin, Asti, and Alessandria. Organized by the Fondazione MOS ETS, the festival has become a staple of the Piedmontese summer: a winning formula that pairs great live music with local culinary excellence, all with free admission.
Monferrato On Stage is not confined to a single location; it is a widespread, traveling festival. Each evening takes place in a different town in the Monferrato area, where squares, courtyards, and historic centers are transformed into open-air stages for the night. The philosophy is simple: bring nationally renowned artists to small towns while showcasing the rolling hills, fine wines, and local products of a region recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
In Casalborgone, the concert is held in the charming Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, in the heart of the village. The evening follows the festival's signature format: starting in the late afternoon, food and wine areas managed by the Pro Loco of Casalborgone offer local specialties, followed by the guest artist's performance in the evening.
For 2026, Casalborgone hosts one of the most heartfelt events on the calendar: a concert by the Rino Gaetano Band, the musical project dedicated to preserving the legacy of the great Calabrian-Roman singer-songwriter. The band, formed at the request of the Gaetano family and led by the artist's nephew, Alessandro Gaetano, performs live the most beloved songs from a repertoire that defined the history of Italian music.
What makes Monferrato On Stage truly special is the pairing of music and taste. Every stop is an opportunity to discover the flavors of Monferrato, from hillside wines to traditional Piedmontese dishes. In Casalborgone, the hospitality is provided by the Pro Loco, which turns the square into a convivial meeting point before and during the show. Supported by the Piedmont Region and numerous local partners, the festival also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and inclusion, with initiatives designed to make the events accessible to everyone.
For the 2026 edition, Casalborgone welcomes the Rino Gaetano Band, the project that carries on the legacy of the Calabrian-Roman singer-songwriter. As per the festival's tradition, the evening combines the concert in the square with food and wine offerings curated by the local Pro Loco, featuring typical local products. Admission is free.
The Casalborgone stop is part of a broader program: the eleventh edition of Monferrato On Stage takes place from May 23 to August 29, 2026, bringing numerous names from the Italian music scene to the stages of Monferrato.
Venue: Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. Admission free.
The Casalborgone stop is the ninth of fifteen events in the 2026 edition of the festival.
